|Additional Position Information: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees. Hours of work: 8AM - 4PM. Days of Week: Monday - Friday. Hours per week: 37.5|
Brief Description of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant supports the division through organization of general office procedures, efficiency in telephone messaging, and preparation and distribution of “on call schedules” and correspondence. The incumbent is also responsible for coordination of physicians’ calendars, scheduling and coordinating of divisional meetings, and utilizing transplant databases for information management. Required to handle high volume phone calls, triage calls, prioritize calls and direct to appropriate staff members. Schedule appointments for pre-transplant evaluations and re-evaluations. Register patients in hospital based system before office visit; obtain authorization from insurance companies for procedures prior to patients scheduled appointment. Confirm patient appointments, set up charts for new patients, pull patient charts for physicians/NP/RN coordinators. Maintain and coordinate patient files/charts, lab request, lab work reports, insurance claim forms. Any additional duties as per the need of the department. Must be highly flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED: A minimum of 4 years administrative experience in a physician's office and/or healthcare setting. Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite, Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Experience with patient contact and excellent customer service skills. PREFERRED: AA degree; Knowledge of Athena Net System, Eagle and Health Bridge. Experience in appointment setting and insurance verification.
