Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Downstate Medical Center currently seeks an Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator to manage, on a daily basis, the coordination and operation of the Paint & Electrical Shops. DUTIES INCLUDE:- Coordination of repair and maintenance activities with other shops and user groups. Developing scopes of minor projects and preparing estimates. Coordinating support and monitoring of construction projects and contractor activities. Verify as built drawing accuracy. Management of electrical issues for all Campus and Satellite buildings. Participating in maintenance and operation of emergency power systems including diesel generators, UPS systems and related switchgear. Implementing a preventative maintenance program of electrical equipment and maintenance painting italicizing our computerized maintenance management work order system. Close follow-up with department trade supervisors, contractors and Facilities Management Department staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION
|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
REQUIRED:New York State Licensed Master Electrician License or Journeyman Electrician with Foreman Experience. Must possess a minimum of 10 years of applicable experience including electrician apprenticeship training or approved training equivalent to New York State standards for Journeyman Electrician. Must also possess a valid driverís license. The ideal candidate will be experienced in supervising electrical power system repair, construction and maintenance activities. Will also possess experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Programs, specifically TMA systems, have experience with low voltage electrical and communication systems such as Nurse Call bells, overhead paging, security and intercom systems, and with automatic doors and control modules. Strong proven management, written and verbal communication skills are required, and you must be a self-starter. PREFERRED: A bachelorís degree in electrical engineering or related electrical technology, architectural technology, construction management or other engineering discipline is preferred.
