|Brief Description of Duties:
The goal if this position is to help create a learning environemnt for employees at Downstate Medical Center. This specific position will functionally manage learning and development for new people managers. In addition the position will manage HR compliance training for all employees. The incumbent will design & develop appropriate curriculum and specific coursework using Adult Learning models that include on-line learning tools as well as classroom training. The incumbent will partner with external vendors in areas that require subject matter expertise to ensure a well-rounded learning program. Partnerships will include outside speakers, learning experience vendors & training consultants. The L&D Manager will also consult with Management on an as-needed basis for departmental training as well as for individual training needs.

|All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC UHB Principles of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.|
Required: BS/BA Business or Social Sciences. Preferred MA/MS in Adult Education/Organization Development or Human Resources as well as 3-5 years in Training & Development, Talent Management or Human Resources in a role responsible for leading/developing training and/or leadership courses. Knowledge of Talent Management practices and career development methodologies. The ideal candidate should demonstrate leadership, high learning agility and excellent verbal & writtien communications skills.
